Alfisti Notabili   Alfa Romeo drivers always captured my attention in an admiring way. Achille Varzi was one of the greatest masters of driving style. Alessandro Nannini survived an horrendous helicopter crash that ended his Formula One career, only to find success in touring cars although without the use of his injured legs. Romeo Guidotti, Alfa's chief test pilot, placed 4th in the 1937 Mille Miglia with a Turismo car that came home ahead of an embarrassed bunch of more powerful machines.
